Exeter Chiefs Foundation will receive nearly £4,000 from a charity row across the Atlantic.

The Give Us A Wave four-man team, including rugby fan Tim Stone (far left), took part in the World’s Toughest Row covering 3,000 miles from San Sebastian de la Gomera in the Canary Islands and will finish in Nelson’s Dockyard in Antigua.

Boats can be rowed solo, as a pair or as a four, but whatever the formation, it is entirely unsupported with no engine or sails, and all food carried on board.

Each member of the Give Us A Wave team chose a charity to raise money for, and Stone chose the Exeter Chiefs Foundation as part of his commitment to giving back to local causes. He raised £3,890 in total.

Exeter Chiefs Foundation’s chairman Tony Rowe CBE said: “We would like to thank Tim for his efforts in raising these funds and to send our congratulations to the rest of the crew for completing this incredible physical feat. Their efforts and the money raised will be used to support projects in the wider Exeter community.”
