Carers group take delivery of new gazebo for fundraising events

The Honiton Carers Support Group has taken delivery of a new gazebo to provide shelter at their fundraising events.

Purchased with a grant from the Exeter Chiefs Foundation, the new commercial-standard, robust gazebo has replaced several others that had broken in the past.

The Honiton Carers offers support to unpaid carers and ex-carers with weekly meetings, socials, respite cover, and peer support. The group currently supports 80 carers in the Honiton area.

The money from their fundraising activities is used to cover the cost of transport, activities and their annual Christmas lunch.

Winnie Cameron, from Honiton Carers Support Group, said: “We are very grateful to the Foundation for this grant. We are a self-funding organisation so grants like these are critical to our ongoing quest to raise funds that means we can continue to provide our services to our carers. Thank you very much.”
