Charity Boxing Event!

The Exeter Chiefs Foundation and the Royal Marines Charity celebrated another successful evening of fundraising on October 19th 2023, watching aspiring boxers from the Met Police take on the Royal Marines in our second annual Charity Boxing Night. A whopping £18,597.71 was raised to be divided between the two charities, and a fantastic evening was had by all.

Taking place in the spectacular Exeter Suite at Sandy Park Stadium and sponsored by superCat High Mobility Vehicles the atmosphere was electric for ten bouts of high-octane boxing action.

Our huge thanks to Marc Baker who was our fabulous compare for the evening and also gave a great performance in ring.

The Exeter Chiefs Foundation were delighted at the range of auction prizes on display and would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who donated. These included a wonderful Lympstone Manor experience donated by Trustee Michael Caines, a fabulous VIP Baxter Suite hospitality experience for an Exeter Chiefs fixture at Sandy Park, and VIP tickets kindly donated by the Royal Marines for the Royal Marines Boxing Championship in 2024, as well as a signed boxing glove by former undefeated world champion Joe Calzaghe OBE.This coveted prize was auctioned off once only to be put back into the auction and sold at a higher price the second time around.

The evening saw ten fantastic bouts, with the marines claiming the overall victory. Winning the signed Exeter Chiefs Rugby shirt as Boxer of the Evening was Oliver Groves of Torbay Boxing Club on behalf of the Met Police, congratulations on the excellent performance Oliver.

Next year we’re hoping to take this event to the next level with more tables, more donations and even more fun. If you would like to find out more, to sponsor the evening, donate prizes or book a table in advance please do contact us at  demikeenan@exeterchiefsfoundation.org.uk

We are truly grateful for those who attended the event and those who donated and pledged into the auction, without whose generous donations, we wouldn’t be able to support such important charitable causes. A heartfelt thank you goes out to each and every one of you.

We look forward to welcoming you at the next Charity Boxing Event 2024!
