Christmas Lunch raises more than £25,000 for Foundation
The annual Exeter Chiefs Foundation Christmas Lunch raised more than £25,000 for good causes in the greater Exeter area.
Former England prop and sports pundit David Flatman oversaw proceedings at Sandy Park as businesses and individuals gathered to raise money for the rugby club’s charity
More than 250 guests enjoyed a festive afternoon, including a four-course Christmas lunch and entertainment from comedian Tank Sherman.
Exeter Chiefs Joseph Dweba and Jimmy Roots took part in a Q&A session along with Rugby World Cup champion Claudia Moloney-MacDonald and her wife and club team-mate, Ireland’s Cliodhna Moloney-MacDonald.
Woodwater Academy choir sang carols to provide some seasonal musical accompaniment before a silent auction and tombola completed proceedings.
Exeter Chiefs Foundation chairman Tony Rowe CBE said: “I would like to thank everyone who attended our annual Christmas lunch and for their unwavering generosity. We raised an extra £5,000 raised from the previous year’s Christmas lunch, which means we will have more funds to pass onto charities and organisations in the area.”
