The charity works to prevent sudden cardiac deaths in young people and the new training equipment aims to help them reach their goal of training every 13-year-old in the South West in CPR and defibrillator use.

With the help of the Exeter Chiefs Foundation, Jay’s Aim has been able to purchase three new sets of training equipment to support the recruitment of three new first-aid trainers who will start delivery in local schools this month.

Becky Skinner, the Foundation’s administrator, said: “We’re proud to have been able to donate to such a worthy cause. Jay’s Aim has been one of the Foundation’s matchday charities since its inception in 2018 and one which we work incredibly closely with.

“They do such key work throughout the South West, targeting a school-based demographic to try to equip an entire generation with lifesaving skills. We wish them well with this newest project.”

The initiative grew from a charity visit to the Houses of Parliament in July 2025 when Jay’s Aim volunteers realised the significant national gap in both funding and training quality for young people learning the crucial skills around CPR.

Their new goal has strengthened their commitment to the local community as the charity hope that by the end of the 2027/28 academic year, they will have helped to ensure every year 8 student across Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset will have received hands on CPR and defibrillator training. That means the team will reach 29,000 students each year.
