The Exeter Chiefs Foundation has helped fund new and inclusive netball kit for Cranbrook Arrows Netball Club.

The club requested a contribution to help pay for 40 new netball t-shirts to replace outdated gear and complement their match-day dresses.

The Arrows were keen to enhance team inclusivity by offering kit that accommodates players of all sizes and genders, and to support their growth as they continue to participate in local and regional leagues.

Head coach Lauren Martin said: “The club decided to seek funding for new kit to help improve team unity and inclusivity. By offering alternative kit options, we cater to a broader range of players, including those uncomfortable with traditional dresses. We are grateful for the Foundation’s support.

“This project has allowed for greater community engagement and participation in the game. Netball is a great sport and thoroughly promotes physical and mental wellbeing within our community. The new kit looks great too!”

Any charity, organisation or independent project in the greater Exeter area can apply for a project grant from the Exeter Chiefs Foundation, as long as the project will enhance the local area and the local community within it, the grant is for something tangible, such as equipment, and meets specified wellbeing and charitable aims.

Chairman Tony Rowe CBE said: “We have raised more than £3 million since we set up the Foundation and have helped more than 200 projects, charities and organisations in the greater Exeter area. The Cranbrook Arrows are a perfect example of a project that met the grant criteria of the promotion of physical, social and spiritual wellbeing of individuals, so we had no hesitation in helping them buy their new kit. We wish them all the success, on and off the court, for the future.”
