New chairlift for Exeter Little Theatre Company

The Foundation donated funding to help with the purchase and installation of a new stairlift at the Exeter Little Theatre Company.
The previous one was deemed beyond economic repair and needed replacing, so the amateur theatre, based in Preston Street, requested a grant to help pay for a new stairlift.
Isobel Court, the Company’s chairman, said: “We provide experience in all aspects of theatre for the local community, as well as regular members’ social events and we also have a youth company.
“We have been entertaining audiences in Exeter for more than 70 years and currently put on three large productions a year, using the Barnfield Theatre, Northcott Theatre and Cygnet Theatre in Exeter, as well as some smaller in-house productions and performances at our premises.
“Our premises are not only used by our members but are also hired by other small community theatre groups. Exeter College also regularly hires out our premises for their performing arts students’ lessons.
“The majority of our usable space is on the first floor, meaning a stairlift is vital to provide access to people of all abilities. Thank you to the Foundation for helping us to purchase this new stairlift.”
