Our New Designated Charitable Partners for 21/22

Exeter Foundation Bucket & Ball

The Exeter Chiefs Foundation are delighted to announce the designated charities who will be working in partnership with our team for the 21/22 season.

Designated Charities form a vital cog in our fundraising system, they attend the Exeter Chiefs match-days at Sandy Park, and armed with brightly coloured yellow buckets and high-vis jackets, collect money from the supporters who turn out in big numbers to cheer on the team.

This money is then distributed amongst the all the charities when the season concludes and through the generosity of the Chiefs fans, we have been able to raise over £450,000 since the inception of the collections in 2011.

With last season heavily disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, and crowds forced to stay away from Sandy Park, there was limited opportunity for our designated charity partners to collect fund. However, to ensure the season was not wasted the trustees of the Exeter Chiefs Foundation donated an additional £10,000 to the pot, which was split amongst last year’s charities.

With Exeter Chiefs Women’s games being included in our match-day calendar this season, we are thrilled that there are going to be 25 designated charities lined up for the year ahead, the most we have ever worked with, and a testament to the generosity of the Chiefs fans!

Board Trustee Kieron Northcott said “It’s fantastic that we have so many wonderful, local charities who will be collecting at match-days this season. We’re grateful to the fans of Exeter Chiefs who every year dig deep into their pockets and exceed expectations with their generosity.”

“This marks the 10th anniversary of the Exeter Chiefs Foundation and after a challenging 18 months, we can’t wait to move forward and continue to support the wonderful work of charities around this great city.”

With the first collection due to happen on Saturday, September 122 as Exeter Chiefs take on Munster Rugby in our only pre-season friendly, we cannot wait to welcome you all back to Sandy Park for another successful season, and to see you all donating to these wonderful causes.
