Powderham concert collection reaps £8.5k for Foundation
Concert-goers donated more than £8.5k to the Exeter Chiefs Foundation at they enjoyed the Live at Powderham event at the weekend.
The Foundation had been selected, alongside three other charities, to collect monies at four concerts held in the grounds of Powderham Castle from Thursday, 25 June to Sunday, 28 June. Each charity was assigned a separate day and the Foundation attended Lewis Capaldi’s first concert on Saturday.
Becky Skinner, the Foundation’s administrator, said: “It was incredible to be a part of the event which saw 35,000 people attend to watch Lewis Capaldi and support acts.
“Our team of 30 volunteers had a fantastic time and were grateful the weather cooled down a little! Huge thanks to Jay’s Aim for providing us with the volunteers, and to the representatives of the RNLI charity, who ensured things ran smoothly for us.
“We were all treated to an amazing performance by Lewis at the end of the long day. It was an enjoyable and unforgettable experience for everyone there.
“But more than that, thank you to everyone who donated funds to our cause. They will be supporting charities and good causes in the wider Exeter area and make a real difference to people’s lives.”
