Sponsored tree lights up Christmas
Exeter Chiefs Foundation have taken delivery of a 14ft Christmas tree to raise funds through sponsored decorations.
Donated by Cotley Farm, the tree was erected in the top piazza on front of Sandy Park so it can be enjoyed by all visitors to the stadium and conference & banqueting centre.
Local businesses and charities, including Meadows Estate Agents, Meredith Morgan Taylor and Royal Devon Hospitals Charity, have already sponsored decorations for the tree with many more expected to join them.
Decorations are available for a minimum donation of £50 each with every penny going to the Foundation. The tag decorations will also be available to buy at the Foundation’s Christmas Lunch on Wednesday, 10 December.
The Foundation’s trustees and staff attended the official switch-on yesterday.
Chairman Tony Rowe CBE said: “Thank you to Cotley Farm for giving us such a beautiful tree that has taken pride of place at Sandy Park. It is a very visible emblem of the ongoing support we receive from these business and charities. Together, we are helping to improve people’s lives in the greater Exeter area.”
The Exeter Chiefs Foundation has raised more than £3 million since its inception in 2011 enabling hundreds of grants to be awarded to good causes in the area.
