More than 70 people took part in the Exeter Chiefs Foundation’s 2025 Community Charity Walk.

Joined by Big Chief and Councillor Duncan Wood, the walktook place on Saturday, 4 October, ahead of the Chiefs’ first home Gallagher PREM game of the season against Newcastle Red Bulls.

Designed to be accessible for beginners, families, and seasoned walkers alike, the 10km route began at Wonford Community Centre, followed the River Exe through part of the Exeter Green Circle before reaching Countess Wear and finishing at Sandy Park where participants enjoyed a well-earned drink and pasty before kick-off.

The 74 participants paid £50 to enter, which included their match ticket in the West Grandstand, but were also encouraged to raise additional funds through the Foundation’s JustGiving page to support local causes. The amount raised currently stands at £2,500 with more monies still being collected.

Exeter Chiefs Foundation chairman Tony Rowe CBE said: “Thank you to everyone who took part and raised money for the Foundation. You did us proud.

“I would also like to thank Chunk of Devon and Heineken for the pasties and beers, Stitch 2 Print and Typhoon Associates for the commemorative t-shirts, Exeter City Council’s health and wellbeing team, who helped us plan the event, and the volunteers who offered invaluable support on the day.

“We will make this an annual event to coincide with the first home game of every season. We hope it will grow year on year to help raise funds for local causes, while supporting the wellbeing of the walkers themselves.”
